life is short

I have been following the blog of humanitarian photographer David duChemin ever since I listened to him speak at the Maui Photo Festival in August.  I have finally gotten over his comment about taking pictures of sunsets…you can only have so many.  Living in Maui, every single sunset is different…pinks, oranges, yellows, blues, whites, and even greens…when you get lucky enough to see the flash.

Today I checked out his blog and found this post.  It moved me to tears.  It spoke to me about everything I am going through right now.  I wanted to share it with all of you because the message is an important one for us all.

Life is Short

Happy Sunday.

  1. Excellent post and link, Corrie. We just took a trip to GA…one that we really “couldn’t afford”, but it was for the retirement of a good friend. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that these opportunities are not to be missed, when we lost a friend a couple of years ago. It is crazy but true that sometimes tragedy helps us recognize joy. Thanks for the reminder!
